WaterBlocs MAXI-BLOCS are a natural biological treatment designed to clear cloudy water in large-scale aquatic environments.
 
Each pack contains 4 x 1.2kg blocs, ideal for lakes, dams, ponds, and other substantial water bodies where maintaining water clarity and a healthy ecosystem is an ongoing challenge.
 
What Are WaterBlocs?
WaterBlocs are a specially formulated porous mineral substrate containing multiple nutrients that promote the rapid growth of beneficial bacteria when immersed in aquatic water systems.

They are suitable for both fresh and saltwater environments where fish, turtles, plants, pets, and other organisms live.
 
How WaterBlocs Work
Once submerged, colonies of naturally occurring beneficial bacteria establish themselves within the porous mineral substrate and around the zeolite particles.
 
These bacteria produce enzymes that consume the organic waste, ammonia, and unwanted nutrients responsible for cloudy water and depleted oxygen levels.
 
WaterBlocs have a unique atomic microcellular structure that maximises their effectiveness by:
Increasing internal substrate surface area for greater bacterial colonisation
Chemically adsorbing ammonia and natural trace elements
Providing additional nutrients to support thriving colonies of beneficial bacteria
Restoring water balance in degraded aquatic systems
 
Depending on where WaterBlocs are positioned within the water column, they support both aerobic bacteria in the upper, oxygenated layers and anaerobic bacteria in the lower, oxygen-poor layers where toxic conditions are most prevalent.
 
Why Lakes & Dams Need Treatment
Water bodies clogged with decaying organic matter and sludge become oxygen-depleted over time, creating a toxic bottom layer of stagnant water that threatens aquatic life and water quality.
 
WaterBlocs address this at the source — breaking down the organic waste and sludge that drive the problem. Lakes and ponds are dosed at the start of each season for ongoing water clarity and ecosystem health.
 
Directions for Use
Place the recommended dose of WaterBlocs underwater in an area with gentle or no water flow, every three (3) months.
 
Allow several weeks for large populations of beneficial bacteria to develop fully within the porous mineral substrate. Best results are achieved when:
 
Water temperature is 15°C or above
pH is approximately 7.0
Aeration maintains dissolved oxygen at 3ppm or higher
 
Recommended Dosage
Increase dosages for stagnant water, aquatic systems with large amounts of organic waste, or problem areas.
 
1.2kg Maxi-Bloc — use one bloc per 5,000L of water, or per 20m² of water surface area
6kg Mega-Bloc — use one bloc per 200,000L of water
 
Application by Water Type
 
Lakes & Dams Apply WaterBlocs evenly spaced around the edges and to the bottom of the water body. Where possible, suspend or float near the surface for best coverage.
 
Treating Sludge Place WaterBlocs directly in the sludge layer to stimulate the growth of anaerobic bacteria that devour organic waste. WaterBlocs will slowly biodegrade, leaving only a natural zeolite residue that is beneficial to soils and harmless to the marine environment.
