What Are WaterBlocs MINI-BLOCS?
WaterBlocs are a specially formulated porous mineral substrate containing multiple nutrients that promote the rapid growth of beneficial bacteria when immersed in aquatic water systems.
Once submerged, colonies of naturally occurring beneficial bacteria develop within the porous mineral substrate and around the zeolite particles. These bacterial colonies produce enzymes that consume organic waste, ammonia, and unwanted nutrients — the primary causes of cloudy water and depleted oxygen levels that threaten aquatic life.
WaterBlocs MINI-BLOCS are suitable for both fresh and saltwater systems where fish, turtles, plants, pets, and other aquatic organisms live.

How It Works
- WaterBlocs contain a porous mineral substrate blended with nutrients that accelerate the colonisation of beneficial bacteria.
- When placed underwater, these bacteria establish themselves within the bloc and begin producing enzymes that break down the organic waste, excess ammonia, and nutrients responsible for murky, oxygen-depleted water.
- The result is a healthier, more balanced aquatic ecosystem — naturally.
- Best results are achieved when water temperature is 15°C or above, pH is approximately 7.0, and dissolved oxygen levels are maintained at 3ppm or higher with adequate aeration.
Directions for Use
Place the recommended dose of WaterBlocs underwater in an area with gentle or no water flow, every three (3) months. Allow several weeks for large populations of beneficial bacteria to develop fully within the porous mineral substrate.
Placement by application type:
- Aquariums — Totally or partially bury WaterBlocs in aquarium gravel
- Ponds & Lakes — Apply WaterBlocs to the bottom of the pond or float near the surface
- Fountains — Place in the water reservoir or in an area of low water turbulence
- To treat sludge — Place WaterBlocs directly in the sludge layer to stimulate the growth of anaerobic bacteria that devour organic waste
Recommended Dosage
Increase dosages for stagnant water, aquatic systems with large amounts of organic waste, or problem areas.
- 10g Aquarium-Bloc — use one bloc per 25L of water, or per 0.2m² of water surface area
- 20g Mini-Bloc — use one bloc per 50L–100L of water, or per 0.4m² of water surface area
- 100g Pond-Bloc — use one bloc per 500L of water, or per 2m² of water surface area
- 200g Multi-Bloc — use one bloc per 1,000L of water, or per 4m² of water surface area
- 1.2kg Maxi-Bloc — use one bloc per 5,000L of water, or per 20m² of water surface area
- 6kg Mega-Bloc — use one bloc per 200,000L of water
